Tibetan Amber Rope Incense

This handmade Nepali incense, that looks like small pieces of rope is really a treat for the senses. This Amber scented incense is a special floral incense that lends itself to elegance and beauty.

Rope incense is dried plant material, that is stuffed with precious powders and herbs, and it is twisted to make it look like rope. It is a bit fragile as far as incense goes, but a delight to the senses and fills the home with a wonderful aroma. Handmade in Nepal, Incense Cottage, Purano Kalimati, Kathamndu, Nepal.

In order to burn this incense, you can use a special rope burner, which we have in the shop, or you can make your own contraption, with a paperclip and a stone, or anything non-flammable, that will hang your piece of rope incense. We have even propped the piece of incense between two stones in the past and burnt the incense looking like a birthday candle. LOL.  I have seen the incense burned on the spiral incense burners and also on the special Tibetan Incense burners.

Basically, you want to hang the incense and light the end of the incense, in this case, it is the twisted/braided side that is lit.  You blow out the part that was lit and it smolders like regular incense does.

Please use away from cloth materials and do not leave unattended.  Do not touch the burning end.  Incense not for ingestion.
